This is usually due to a large file attached to your email. It really takes some time to download a message with large file attachments.
- I cannot retrieve or send my mails.
Check in your mail server settings if you have indicated the correct POP3 & SMTP server:
- POP3: mail.pticom.com
- SMTP: smtp.pticom.com
It could also be caused by slow transmission or modem slowdown. Try again after several seconds; Or the mail server could be under maintenance.
- I have received a garbled file attached to my mail. What could have caused that?
Some data could have been lost while in the process of delivering the mail. Or there could be something wrong with the settings of either the sender or recipient of the mail.
- There are mails which I've sent that bounces back to me. Why was it undelivered?
The e-mail address of the intended recipient was probably incorrect or no longer exists. Or the ISP mail server of the recipient is temporarily down. Usually, the returned mail is just a warning informing the sender that the mail was not yet sent to the recipient's mail server. There is no need for the sender to re-send the particular mail. After trying to send the mail for 48 hours and it still remains undelivered, the mail will finally be returned by the system to the sender with an undeliverable status.
- Is it possible to catch a virus through e-mails?

- File attachments. How is it done and how do I get to open if I received one?
An option to attach file, web page or even the sender's address book card can be found in your e-mail software. To attach a file, simply choose File and it will ask for the exact location of the specific file you want to send (what drive and in what directory the file was being stored). After that, when you send the mail it will automatically copy the selected file to be attached to your message. If you received a file attachment, simply click the link of the attached file. If it is a compressed file, your decompressing software ( e.g. WinZip) will automatically be launched. If it is a document, you will be asked what program would you like to use to open it.
