- What is EV-DO?
EV-DO stands for Evolution Data Optimized. It simply means faster wireless internet for your cellular phone or PTI aircard. EV-DO is 10x faster than a regular wireless internet.
- How much is EV-DO?
FREE! EV-DO is an upgraded feature on your wireless internet. Although EV-DO upgrade is FREE, airtime applies when web browsing on your cell phone. PTI Aircard monthly charges are: $39.95 when you apply for 1 year.
- What is the difference between EV-DO and 1xrtt?
For 1xrtt, the Download Speed is 56 kbps, and the Upload Speed is 15 kbps.
For EV-DO, the Download Speed is 768 kbps average, and the Upload Speed is 115 kpbs average.
- What kind of wireless device can I have EV-DO?
Most Cellular Phones and Wireless Aircards offered by PTI are compatible with
EV-DO.
- How do I get EV-DO on my cellular phone?
Your cell phone must be EV-DO compatible.
- How do I know my cell phone is EV-DO compatible?

- How can I have EV-DO on my phone?
Please see one of PTI's Wireless Technician for assistance at the Customer Service Center either in Chalan Laulau or Garapan.
- What will they do to my phone?
The Wireless technician will flash and program your phone for EV-DO.
- How long will the wireless technician take to flash my phone?
Estimated time between 5 to 15 minutes, depending on what type of phone you have.
- I have a wireless aircard from PTI, can I have EV-DO on the aircard?
Yes. PTI wireless aircards are EV-DO compatible.
- How long will the wireless technician take to flash my aircard?
Estimated time between 5 to 15 minutes.
- Why should I upgrade to EV-DO on my smart phone?
EV-DO allows you to view video streams on your smart phone. Surf youtube.com and play videos, watch a tennis tournament, etc.
- Why should I upgrade to EV-DO on my PTI Aircard?
EV-Do allows you to surf the internet 10x faster than the regular aircard speed. The pages load quicker; no more waiting for the pages to load.
