- What is AIR-PTI Wireless card?
The PTI AirCard is a USB modem offering wireless data connection for your laptop. Using AIR-PTI 1xRTT CDMA network, it's the ideal solution for on the go communications. It allows wireless access from anywhere in the CNMI that has PTI cellular service -- Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
- What are the benefits of using a PTI AirCard USB Modem?
Using a PTI AirCard USB Modem allows the user to wirelessly connect a laptop directly to the Internet, Intranet, corporate email or a host of other corporate applications -- without the need for a wireless phone or landline connection. Using a PTI AirCard USB Modem to wirelessly access key corporate applications while on the road anywhere in the CNMI allows users to increase their productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness while away from the office.
- What Operating Systems does the PTI AirCard support?
The following Operating Systems are supported:
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista 32-bit
- Mac OS X (10.3.9 or later versions of Mac OS X)
DO NOT INSTALL THE CDU550 ON WINDOWS ME.
This CAN cause issues with the operating system.
- What are the minimum system requirements to use the PTI AirCard?
Operating system as above, plus:
- Connection: USB Port
- Disk Drive: CD ROM
- Processor: 667 MHz or faster
- Memory: 128MB RAM
- Disk Space: 100 MB
- Why is the Y USB cable supplied?
The PTI AirCard is provided with a system whereby by connecting both USB ends, the modem receives more power thereby extending its signal strength slightly. This is only really necessary in fringe coverage areas. Please see the manual for a complete guide to connecting your PTI AirCard.
- Can I make voice calls from the PTI Wireless Air card?
No. Even though you have postpaid cellular number
You can not make a voice call from the PTI wireless air card. It is only compatible with unlimited data set up on the PTI Cellular Network.
- What is a EVDO 1xRTT card and how does it work on our network?
Franklin EVDO runs under PTI's CDMA 1xRTT Network
1x (single-carrier) Radio Transmission Technology. The data rate speed for Down Link and Up Link can go up to 153 kbps.
- Where can PTI AirCard work?
It will work anywhere your PTI cell phone works on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
- How much is the PTI AirCard?
It depends on the length of the contract. See below:
- AIR PTI card cost $143 - under 24 month agreement - MRC $40
- AIR PTI card cost $203 - under 12 month agreement - MRC $60
- AIR PTI card cost $263 - under 1 month agreement - MRC $80
